Elbow pads are designed specifically for ice hockey, but they can sometimes be used for inline hockey or certain martial arts, as long as the fit, mobility and coverage are suitable. In some cases, associations or referees provide information about which pads are allowed in the respective sport.

Extremely important: elbow pads must allow free arm movement without compromising safety. The correct size (see table) is essential – only a properly fitted pad provides reliable protection.

How to measure: Use a tape measure from the forearm (near the wrist) over the elbow to the upper biceps. Alternatively, measure the circumference around the elbow.
